Anuradha Jagannathan Academy of Dance

This school is run by Anuradha Jagannathan in Mississauga, Ontario where she teaches both nritta and abhinaya from 2004.

The school offers group classes for beginners while, for advanced students, one on one classes are offered. The school has organized seminars and workshops on abhinaya, nritta and nattuvangam.

It’s presentation of “Bharathathil Bharathi”, where six dancers of the school danced to the compositions of the late poet-patriot, is still remembered appreciatively. Students of the school have also helped raise funds for s.
 
About Anuradha Jagannathan
Anuradha Jagannathan has been an exponent of the Vazhuvur style with the late Swamimalai Rajarathnam, a Vazhuvur family member, as her guru. She is also a disciple of Abhinaya exponent Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan.

Anuradha has performed extensively in North America, Asia, Europe and Australia. In India, she has danced for prestigious organizations in Chennai, Trivandrum, Mumbai, Bangalore, Mysore and New Delhi. She has also had the honor of performing for the President of India at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi in 1989.She was part of Shri Rajarathnam’s dance troupe which toured war hit Afghanistan in 1989. She was also a leading member of Shri Rajarathnam’s only dance drama “Meenakshi Kalyanam” in 1994.

Anuradha started teaching in 1987. She has taught numerous Indian, French and American students since then. She has conducted workshops in Berlin, Germany in 1993 and in Lyon, France in 1996, 1998 and 1999.
