Swathi BadrinarayananSwathi Badrinarayanan is a grade 12 student at Brampton Centennial Secondary School.
Swathi has been learning Carnatic Music for eight years. She is currently learning from Smt. Vasumathi Nagarajan and Smt. Rajarajeshwary Bhat and previously learnt from Smt. Sandhya Srivatsan. Swathi has also gotten the priviledge to learn from Sangita Kalanidhi Smt. Sudha Ragunathan. From the past four years, Swathi has been performing and giving many concerts in North America. She has been participating in the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Festival and Bharathi Kala Manram events. She has participated in various competitions, one of the major ones being the 2014 Carnatic music Idol USA senior vocal competition held in Chicago where she was one of the grand finalists. She also acheived second place in MACA's Carnatic Idol senior vocal competition and Papanasam Sivan's vocal competition. Apart from Carnatic music, Swathi tries various genres, such as: Jazz and R&B and plays the bass guitar and piano; she is an active leader in various music clubs. Swathi loves to sketch, swim, and play volleyball. |
