The Charity - handicare intl.

Maduradhvani is proud to organize the Festival to raise much needed funds which will enable Handi-Care Intl. to build an integrated school for disabled youth for Grade 11-12 at Amar Seva Sangam, making it fully inclusive. Be part of this noble cause and make a difference to someone's life!

Amar Seva Sangam
(ASSA), an exemplary charitable organization based in South India, has been addressing the needs of physically and intellectually challenged youth since 1981. Truly an organization “for the disabled by the disabled”, it provides education from Kindergarten to Grade 12, university level educational centres, vocational training centres, homecare and institutional care for individuals with disabilities, and rehabilitation centres, as well as 362 self-help groups in the nearby communities.

Handi-Care Intl. (HCI), a Canadian registered charity, has been raising funds for ASSA and other institutions for the disabled since 1992 enabling hundreds of
disabled youth to be successfully integrated into the community. Among its numerous contributions to ASSA include building an Early Intervention Centre for children born with developmental delays, a Centre for Special Education for more than 100 children with intellectual challenges and expansion of the in-campus school facilities at ASSA. HCI has also established volunteer and clinical placements at ASSA for Occupational/Physical Therapy graduates from Canada.

This year HCI is seeking funds to extend the integration of  the physically and developmentally disabled youth, from Grade 10, which was the limit till now, to Grade 12. By doing so, it will ensure that the disabled youth are included at all levels of school education, enabling them to progress to become productive members of society.
